I thought I would share a quick update about my hair...which I hate. That’s an awful thing to say, I know. I should be thankful I have hair at all, and I am. However, if I were to describe it to you most aptly, it would be to say that I have entered the “Colonial Phase” of hairstyles. I look like George Washington’s nephew, or, as I said to the ladies at the Infusion Suite when I checked in for my appointment last Thursday, “...like a member of the Continental Congress.” The only thing missing is the pony tail.
That is not an exaggeration. It has come back curly – very curly – which isn’t a bad thing in itself, if it weren’t so short. Keifer describes it as looking like a sheep, and that’s pretty accurate too. I won’t cut it because that would defeat my purpose to grow it out. I just pray I have the forbearance to get through this most unattractive stage.
On another subject, this is “Blog Draft #4” because I have three others started that I haven’t finished, including one with a poem. It’s been difficult for me to write for several months now. I suppose my lack of inspiration coincides with the stem cell transplant, but I’m not sure that one has to do with the other. I’m definitely in a slump, but I have faith things will change soon. I’ll just keep on trying. Please just keep checking in!
Sometimes I get frustrated trying to write because my thoughts out race the pen (or text in this sense). Hopefully you will be able to rekindle the inspiration soon and take pleasure in writing once again. Always look forward to your reads. Love you.
Who is Keifer? I had an impressive and beautiful Kerry Blue Terrier named Keifer. Keifer was the smartest dog I had the privilege of raising.
sending prayers your way my friend, I think you would look great with curly hair even if it looks wild. I miss you!
You do have the gift of writing! I know all of us hate our hair sometimes.
When your hair grows out we will all be jealous!!!
